Project Private Jet is Born
Hello and welcome to my personal diary I like to call Project Private Jet. I have a goal to be the proud owner of a private jet within 10 years, and it is on this page that I record my monthly progress. I post monthly updates because I want to be able to share my experiences so everybody can learn from what has worked for me and from what mistakes I may make along the way. I hope Project Private Jet provides you with inspiration and I hope you too are able to go out and get what you want.
Lets start with last month and work backwards...

| August 2007 |
07 Sep 2007 |
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Project Private Jet. August has been a very, very valuable month for me. As I mentioned in last month’s update, I have purchased Mike Dillard’s MLM Traffic Formula. I did not realise there was so much to learn about Internet Network Marketing. MLM Traffic Formula is incredibly in depth and very easy to follow, there is just so much though! I was really excited when I got the nock on the door and the package arrived.
The MLM Traffic Formula consists of 11 audio CDs, 2 video tutorials and a manual of more than 200 pages. The following are just a few of the topics covered:
- Capture Pages
- Copywriting
- Google Adwords
- SEO and blogs
- CPM Networks
- Merchant Accounts.
Click here for my full review of MLM Traffic Formula
As you can imagine, with so much information, most of my evenings have been taken up with “Studying.” But it’s not been all work and no play. Catherine and I decided that we’d fly to South Africa to surprise my dad for his 50th birthday. As we don’t have any leave left this year, we went back for just the weekend. Wow, that was a long rushed journey for just 1 day, but if I were to do it again, I certainly would. The look on my dad’s face was absolutely priceless and made it all worthwhile.
I am pleased to say that my success university business is growing nicely. Yes, it’s a little slow, but remember, it’s the tortoise that wins the race. This last month I have personally sponsored 2 people and my total organisation size has grown to 5 – not bad considering I still have to implement the techniques learned in MLM traffic formula.
On a side note: I was reading a London newspaper one evening on my way home from work and I saw an article that I think you might be interested in reading. I will give you a clue: it’s to do with Britney spears and her money. Click here to read the article about Britney Spears and her residual income.
Plans for September:
This month it’s really simple – Continue to learn and implement the strategies learned in MLM Traffic Formula and drive traffic to my lead capture pages and to this site. You see, network marketing is really just a matter of numbers. It’s the law of averages; introduce enough people to what you are doing and some will NOT join you, some will, and some will pick it up and run with it. You just need to learn how to introduce the numbers. Till next time... Take Care...

July 2007 |
03 Aug 2007 |
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Project Private Jet. Last month I stated that my plans for July would be to create more content for the site. Although I have added 1 or 2 pages, I have not added quite the amount that I had in mind. I have been distracted with what looks like to be a very, very good Network Marketing Opportunity.
I was first introduced to this opportunity a couple of weeks ago and I have spent a good 3 weeks researching it. It’s called Success University and was started by a gentleman named Matt Morris. Membership to Success University entitles you to hours and hours of excellent personal development training by experts in their individual fields like Jim Rohn, Les Brown and Zig Ziglar to name but a few. They offer specialised courses in all aspects of personal development.
This is where it gets really exciting, by referring other people to join Success University, you get paid from their incredible compensation plan. I have never seen on opportunity like this - to earn weekly and monthly residuals so quickly and to benefit from your teams “spill-over”! What’s even more amazing is that Success University are offering a 14 day trial for only a $2 donation to “feed the children.” By simply making this small donation, you have complete access to the back office system and to all the training material. I have been involved with the company for 4 days now and I am still in the trial period myself. In the first 4 days, I already have 1 member in my team thanks to up-line support. My sponsor has been involved for 3 and a half weeks now and he has over 50 people in his organisation. His sponsor is the number 5 referrer for last month.
What really appeals to me about this Network Marketing company is that there are no customers, you don’t have to keep selling. It is totally web-based which means you can target people in over 180 countries around the world, and what really appealed to me the most was the 14 day trial period.
To see an 11 minute video presentation of Success University, Click Here.
I have also been doing quite a bit of research on how to drive more traffic to the site. Site Build It offers a Value Exchange program which I have signed up to. Essentially what this means is that because other web administrators also sign up to the program, it matches sites based on similar keywords. The webmasters are then able to get in touch with each other and exchange links from one website to the other. I am pleased with how the traffic to this site is growing month by month – in June it had 175 unique visitors and last month it achieved 210 unique visitors which is 20% increase in 1 month.
I have also been doing keeping up to date with property prices in Sheffield to see what the value of our 1 bedroom apartment might be worth now. Remember, when we bought, the property it was worth £107k and we got it for a discounted price of £90k. According to prices on www.rightmove.co.uk today, the cheapest 1 bed apartment on the same street as ours is going for £115k but the majority of them are around the £120k mark, and there are even some as much as £130k. Let’s assume that our property is only worth £115k. This means our investment has effectively made us around £25,000.00 in a little over 2 months! Sure beats putting money in the bank!
Plans for August:
To drive as much traffic as possible to my Success University capture pages, and by doing this, gather momentum to quickly build a down-line for not only me but all in my team. I have just purchased Mike Dillard’s MLM Traffic Formula and will be studying this over the next few weeks/months to ensure I create massive amounts of traffic.
Come back next month, and see just how I am doing, building my new team. I would love for you to be a part of it, because I am about to do some serious down-line building! Till next month...

June 2007 |
15 July 2007 |
Hello and welcome to the latest monthly update of Project Private Jet. In comparison to the last few months, June seems like relatively slow month, but after writing this month’s blog, I realise that I have actually got a heck of a lot done.
As you know, in May Catherine and I went in 50/50 with my father and bought an off plan property in Sheffield. This month, we had to finalise the exchange details with the solicitors. Firstly, we had to ensure that we had the money needed for exchange available. We then read through the contract, made sure we were happy with all the terms and conditions and signed it.
If you have been watching the news and keeping abreast of what’s been happening in the UK this last month, you will know that there was some major flooding in the Sheffield area. I have been in contact with the developers and am pleased to say that our off plan development has not been effected. It is a risk when buying properties that it could be damaged from natural disasters, but it’s not going to scare me off from buying more properties.
At the beginning of the Month, I attended a negotiations seminar. Although the theme of the seminar was negotiations with real estate in mind, what I learned can be applied to all aspects of negotiation. It is really interesting to learn how first impressions have such a big impact on setting the tone for negotiation. The handshake, for example, depending on how it is performed, can make you come across as aggressive and domineering, soft and week, or neutral, friendly and trustworthy. Without saying a word, people are able to subconsciously read your body language.
On this website, I have added a few more content pages. I have added a page that explains the differences between the most common compensation plans in Network Marketing. I added a page that to help people understand the processes involved with buying Off Plan Properties, and also a page that lists some of the latest ideas to achieve financial freedom. One of the most exciting pages that I have loaded this month is a page that summarises the 7 steps to unlimited wealth by David Schirmer because Step 1 of the process, David says you need to know what your dreams are. We listed our dreams and it was really exciting to get caught up with it and to let yourself dream BIG!
I have had a couple of emails from people who have come across this site, and to hear what they have to say is truly flattering, and makes me certain that I am on the right path. I have had a few people asking me for more information on my businesses and some that just simply leave a friendly word of encouragement which are always great to receive.
Plans for July:
My main goal for next month is to create content for the site. I want to build up a few more pages of content before I really start to drive traffic to it. Also I intend to attend a couple more seminars on property and network marketing.
Keep well, and I will post an update and the end of March so you can see how I have got on and if Project Private Jet is still on course.

May 2007 |
13 June 2007 |
Hello and welcome to the latest monthly update of Project Private Jet. May has been an incredibly exciting month and I think Project Private Jet is really starting to gain momentum!
Catherine and I have just gone into a 50/50 deal with my dad and we have just bought our first Off Plan investment property. It’s a one bedroom studio flat in Sheffield and is due to be completed in the beginning of June next year.
We decided that Sheffield would be a good place to buy for a number of reasons. Firstly Sheffield has undergone and is set to undergo a huge regeneration programme that is to continue well into the next decade. Restructure is set to include the economy, retail, transport as well as the property market, suggesting the prospect for capital growth in the area is high. There is also large rental demand due to major employer base in the City and in addition, Sheffield has a student population of well over 50,000.
The Property has a current market value (if the property was built and available to live in today) of £107,000 but have been able to get a 15% discount and we have agreed a sale price £90,950 which is £16,000 off the asking price. To secure the property, we have to pay a 10% deposit on exchange which will be in mid June.
We are all really excited about this. My dad has bought rental properties before but only ever in South Africa and he has never bought off plan before. Catherine and I are excited because this is our first investment property, and we have actually taken the steps to buy it. Before, although we have always intended to buy a property, it has felt like we were talking the talk, but not walking the walk. We are now walking the walk!
I am also very excited about the progress this website is making. During May, I have added to the Educational Recourses page, and I have also added a section of inspirational people. Wow! While doing the research on these people, I realised not only how much these people have achieved, but also that these people are not super human. They are pretty much ordinary human beings just like you and I, except they have had a goal, and they have done whatever it took to reach it.
The traffic to the website is also growing nicely. The site has been up and running for 3 months now. In March, I had 43 unique visitors, in April 81 and in May I have had 131. That does not sound like much, but when you consider that I am doing no advertising, and am just starting out, I am pretty impressed. As I grow the site and as word spreads, more and more people will visit.
Plans for June:
Our Plans for June is firstly to successfully exchange contracts for the above property. We need to read through the contract and we need to ensure the funds for the deposit are available. Also, I need to keep adding to this website. I have been reading and watching so many good training and educational aids that I have not had the time I would have liked to add my reviews to this site.
Keep coming back, because I keep adding great content, and there is always new stuff being uploaded. Till next month...

April 2007 |
05 May 2007 |
Hello and welcome to yet another update to Project Private Jet. I think April is going to turn out to be one of the defining months in this project. It started when I attended a 2 hour property investment workshop near Heathrow Airport on the 11th. In truth, I had attended this seminar about a year ago, but did not have the money to buy the extended 2 day weekend seminar. After Re-mortgaging our house, we now had some cash to spend and this time I attended that 2 hour workshop with the intentions of enrolling onto the weekend course.
About 2 weeks and £2500 later, Catherine and I attended the 2 day property seminar in London. Was it worth it? Hell yes. We made our money back in the contacts we met alone. We were introduced to Brokers, solicitors and fellow investors, people who have been doing this for a while now. The brokers alone were worth the fee. They helped us restructure our mortgage so it costs us less each month, and they showed us how to take full advantage of the product we are on.
Come the end of the weekend, we had been given a basic taste on property fundamentals, how to release equity, how to negotiate a good deal and tenancy guidelines to name but a few subjects. It was all fascinating, it really was, there is so, so much to learn on the subject. Catherine and I decided that because we are serious about our future and Project Private Jet, we would make a further investment in our education and become members of the organisation.
That weekend, we spent an additional £7000 to become members. When I told my dad of this on the phone, he let out a huge gulp of disbelief. I think he thinks we are crazy, and I am sure most people who read this will but as a wise man once said “Don’t complain about the price of a shovel when you are digging yourself a goldmine.” And that is exactly the way we see it! As members though, we are also entitled to buy off-plan properties through them that they have sourced with a good discount.
On the website, I Have added the great recourses page. Catherine has helped me with some of the reviews that are up. This page is a list of recourses that we have read, listened to, played or watched that we think can help people achieve their goal to become financially free.
Plans for May:
Plans for next month is to buy another property, either one that we source ourselves or an off-plan from the organisation. I want to spend more time on this website, driving traffic to it. The site has been up for a couple of months now and the traffic has been better that I expected. In March, I had a total of 43 unique visitors and in April I had 81. I would like to keep growing this figure and a 12 month goal would be to have over 1000 unique visitors to the site every month.
Keep well and come back to visit next month to see what I got up to in May and see if Project Private Jet is on track.

March 2007 |
31 March 2007 |
Well another month has passed us by in a flash and I cannot believe how fast time is ticking by. Project Private Jet is just starting to gain momentum. March has been a very busy month for me due to really tight timelines at work and also because I attended a PRINCE2 Project Management course.
The course was really interesting, learning how large projects should be run and much of what was taught made sense as far as theory goes, but in real life unfortunately, I don’t think they can run quite like what was taught. But none the less, I had a good time, learned some new, valuable skills and I now have the qualification (or at least I hope to have it soon, it takes 5 – 6 weeks to mark the exam.)
As for Project Private Jet the website, although I have not been able to put more pages up, I have been busy planning what I think will add valued content and I have over 30 pages planned in the pipeline, so keep a lookout for those as and when I get them up. In fact I am going to be uploading 2 of them soon and I hope to be able to do at least 1 per week from here on.
About mid way through March, we did remortgage our house. The plan is to release some capital so we can invest in more properties. Our house is currently valued at around £130k (not bad considering we paid £106k for it a little over a year ago) and we have arranged a mortgage plus an unsecured loan of £155k. Once we pay off our existing mortgage and some of those evil credit card debts, we should have around £20 000 to invest into another property or two. We have done all the paperwork and signed on the dotted line but it obviously does take time for these things to go through and we hope to have the funds early in April.
As for the Network Marketing side of things, it is ticking over nicely and we have been receiving interest from our advertising efforts on a fairly regular bases. For about 3 months now we have averaged between 15 and 20 interested leads per month and of those a few have purchased from the company and in the process are generating a steady (small for now) residual income.
Plans for April:
Initially our intentions were to go out looking for a property to buy as soon as we get the funds cleared and when we find a good deal we will purchase it. Our plans have changed slightly, we have decided that before we go and put 20 Grand down on a deposit of a house, we want to learn more about the Buy-To-Let industry and perhaps work with some experienced professionals. For that reason we have decided that I am going to attend an Inside Track Property Investing seminar. Once I have more knowledge on what to do and what not to do, we will then look at buying something.
As for this website, like I said earlier, I plan to upload a page a week of some really good quality helpful content.
Keep well and come back to visit next month to see what we have got up to in April and if Project Private Jet is on track.

February 2007 |
|
Hello and welcome to another month on my progress to Financial Freedom and ultimately owning a Private Jet.
February has been a very slow month as far as this web site and Project Private Jet are concerned. Last month I spent a lot of time developing a blueprint of what I was trying to achieve and what I wanted on the website. Initially my intension was to just buy a domain name, find a cheap web hosting company and post the site up on the Internet. That’s all great except for one thing. What good is a website on the internet if nobody ever finds it? You could have the best website in the world, but if nobody knows about it, and nobody can search for it then what good is it?
A while ago I stumbled across a company that not only does web hosting but offers a professional service with tools to improve the traffic to your websites. I went back and had another look at Site Build It. SBI helps and shows you how to go about choosing choice keywords for your site, how to rank highly on search engines and how to maximise traffic to your site. After reviewing all the information again, I decided to sign up to Site Build It.
That’s the good news, the bad news though is after following the first couple of steps in the SBI guide, I realised I had to break down what I had done and start again, this time properly planned, and this unfortunately has delayed the launch of the website.
Other than that life at work is as hectic as ever and is going to be even busier in March. My company have signed me up for a 1 week Project Management course. I need to do a recommended 20+ hours of preparation for the course, which will mean much of my spare time, normally dedicated to Project Private Jet will be eaten into, but it is only for a month and once the course is finished, it’s full steam ahead again!!!
On the Property side of things, about 2 weeks ago I woke up at around 04:00am to a loud crash. I thought somebody was breaking in, but as it turns out we have had a slow leak from the toilet and eventually the kitchen ceiling caved in. It’s a bit of a head ache, having to organise getting everything fixed, but that’s why you take out insurance and it is all part and parcel of owning property.
Plans for March:
The plans so far for next month are firstly to ensure the website is live. It has got to the stage where I have to get it up and running, I won’t feel like I have been making tangible progress until it is. I want Project Private Jet available for the world to see. Also in March we plan to look into re-mortgaging our house and investing any equity released into other properties. Also By the end of March, I hope to have passed my Project Management course.
Keep well, and I will post an update and the end of March so you can see how I have got on and if Project Private Jet is still on course.

January 2007 |
|
This has been an incredible month for me. Obviously it started with New Years Day and therefore a new year’s resolution. Every year I come up with resolutions but never continue through with them because previously I have been the master of procrastination, so much so that I eventually forget what my resolutions were in the first place. They have also been resolutions that don’t mean a great deal to me and as a result I run out of motivation.
This one is already different! Why you ask? Well for starters if you read any self help book it will tell you that if you want to reach your goals, you need to write them down on paper and visit them regularly. This resolution is already different because I have not only written my goal down on paper, but I am going to post it on the internet for everyone in the world to see. Also, I really, really, really don’t want to be working for someone else for the next 40+ years making them rich.
Project Private Jet is born:
January has been my month of planning and taking the first steps. My primary goal is to be financially free within 10 years. For me financial freedom means having my residual income exceed my living expenses so that I only need to work for money if I choose. I believe that if you aim higher than what your goals actually are, you have a much better chance of achieving them, so for me I am going all out and am striving to be a proud owner of a Private Jet. I am going to give it my absolute best effort and will work diligently and in a planned manor for the next 10 years. If I can keep up the pace I should be financially free within 2 years, but I am not going to put that immediate pressure on myself.
This month I have been putting together a blueprint of the website. I have been talking with Catherine my fiancée and with close friends for their advice on how I can improve things. One thing they agree on is that Project Private Jet is very ambitious. I wrote and re-wrote my ‘About Me’ page, worried that I might be giving away too much personal information for the world to see, but I decided that if I am going to do this it needs to be about who I really am. I want people to see that I am an ordinary young man about to get married and start a family. This website needs to be personal and I want people to feel like they know me as a close friend and feel comfortable to just drop me an email. I am not just another faceless business out there…
My day job has also been hectic this month. The Clients where I am currently implementing a system (have been there onsite for the last year now) are just trying to get their heads around phase 2 of the project and so require much of my time. I basically spend my days in and out of meetings.
I must admit though, this month has not been all work and no play. Catherine and I have just got back from a 1 week ski holiday in Austria. We went with 2 of our friends and had the most amazing time! The locals tell us that there is hardly any snow at the moment, but for us that grew up in South Africa and have never seen snow before it was incredible. Below is a photo from the trip and if you have never been skiing before, I really recommend you give it a go…
Keep well and come back to visit next month to see what I got up to in February and see if Project Private Jet is on track. |

Officially my Blog starts in 2007 but I am writing this section to give you a more detailed idea of exactly where I stand at the start of Project Private Jet.
As things stand today I am involved with one network marketing company. I joined the company a little over a year ago and I currently have eight representatives in my team, two of which I have personally sponsored. This is not a record I am particularly happy with but by the same token I now know why it has been so poor. My business has not grown at the rate I hoped it would because of three reasons: (1) Me, (2) Myself and (3) I.
When I joined this business, I was so amazed with the compensation plan that I remember thinking to myself this is going to be easy, who would not be able to see how powerful this is? I thought that this would just be a matter of calling friends and family and saying you got to see this and they would all be begging to join me there and then.
I remember lying awake at night for about a week trying to come up with the best way to structure my business. My thought process went a little something like this:
”If I speak to Bob first, he can be on my first level, and then I will speak to George and place him under Bob. I can then speak to John and put him under George and… but no wait Chris has good contacts at the rugby club, so I should put him at my first level. No, if I put Chris at the bottom of my team then the whole team will be able to benefit from Chris and his never ending list of contacts… “
I spent all my time thinking about how to start my business, but I never actually did anything to get it going. Ready, Aim, Aim, Aim...
Eventually I spoke to a family member who was at the time struggling financially. I approached him by basically telling him this is the answer to his troubles. I told him I had researched the company (which is the truth) and all he needs to do is sign up and all his troubles would be solved. He did sign up and join me but the problem is he never did anything. In fact to this day he has not even activated his business by using 3 products. I think he joined because it was me and he trusted me but also I think he saw it a winning lottery ticket or something.
A couple of months passed with no activity. I was speaking to people quite regularly but I had no idea how to close the deal. Frequently the people I would speak to would seem really interested but I would ruin the sale by speaking too much. I would rattle on and on about how this works how that works, this is how many people you need to sponsor and this is how much product you must use and then you get to another level and then this and then that etc. etc. etc. Thinking back on it, no wonder nobody wanted to join me, I must have confused the hell out of them
While I was out confusing my prospects, my up line was at least having some success and had built my leg a little deeper. I now had six people under me. I called another family member and him that he has to join. This thing is going to be big. I told him look, I have 6 people under me and I haven’t even done a thing. He joined and like before, has done nothing.
I know realise that I was always relying too much on my up line. I was expecting them to build my leg.
Currently my income figures up to now are:
Quick Start Bonus: £75
Average residual monthly income: £1.50
Total residual earned: £15
The £1.50 per month still excites me the most. Although this might seem like a petty sum every month, the point is it is residual. This means I will continue to earn £1.50 every month if I work the business or not. This £1.50 is the same as the monthly interest earned in a bank that offers 3% per Annum on a lump sum of £600.00.
All that is in the past now. 2007 is just beginning and with this new beginning a new mindset and work ethic. 2007 is going to be a great year!!! This is the start of Project Private Jet |
